Our Work

Our Work at Shai Foundation

The work of the Shai Foundation extends across many areas:

- Supporting the health and wellbeing of children and families

- Improving the educational and life chances of children

- Supporting Orphanages

- Home Building

- Food Distributions

- Self-Development Programmes

Some of the work we embark on is through valued partnerships. Those partnerships are important to us, and we value their support.

Our Work In the UK

Our Work at Shai Foundation

In the UK, Shai Foundation partnered with Home Start Haringey to provide Christmas food parcels to children ‘in need’ and their family. We provided food parcels to over 60 children and their families. This work is on-going.

Supporting Young People ‘In Care'. We provided bicycles to young people living in a residential care home in East London, encouraging them to get outdoors, engage in activities, and exercise.

Work Outside the UK

Our Work at Shai Foundation

Two years after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Shai Foundation joined the many hands that had gone before us to help the devastated communities there. We supported children and families, those impacted by the earthquake and other social adversities, to rebuild their lives. We developed a small team in Charlette, Haiti, under the leadership of Pastor Sam.

The team ensured that the children registered on our Matumaini Sponsorship program and their families were supported.

The team ensured that school fees were paid and that the children received all the necessary school resources required, including books and uniforms. The children and their family were provided with food parcels monthly.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME
Barbados

Shai Foundation have begun discussions with charity founders in Barbados and we’re excited. The plan is for Shai Foundation to develop our ‘Sponsorship Programme’ on the island, supporting disadvantaged children there. We aim to partner with established charities there. WATCH THIS SPACE.

Strickly Roots

We partnered with Strickly Roots; a Welch based organisation in the UK who supported our Child Sponsorship programme in Haiti. Through Strickly Roots we connected with a primary school in Wales who donated over 50 ‘shoe boxes’ packed with goodies for the children in Haiti. Hillary Brown headed up Strickly Roots and became one of Shai Foundation’s ambassadors.

Gennex Elite

We partnered with Gennex Elite, with the aim of providing energy to the villagers of Haiti. Gennex’s focus is to innovate on modern technology and use it as a way of meeting the needs of the disadvantage. Gennex CEO Nathaniel Peat provided Shai with solar lanterns which were distributed to the four houses at the Glory Glory Orphanage.

Babbs Reading Clinic

We partnered with the Babbs Reading Clinic in Barbados, supporting their boys reading programme. The programme supports boys who need additional support to improve their reading abilities. The programme run for 6 weeks annually.
